Moonrise is Wes' best since Rushmore, The Master is PTA's best period, Beasts of the Southern Wild is Magical and Holy Motors STILL manages to be millions of miles above everything else. It's one of the best films to come out in my lifetime.

You're always funny when it's time to be funny, and when the serious threads begin, yours are always among the most intelligent and enlightening. Sometimes I start to feel like I'll never really fit in around here, since there is definitely a family vibe to the AV Club commentariate, but a single upvote from Scrawler always brightens my day. The movie I really have a problem with on the list is The Wolf of Wall Street, I don't really get how that movie is being treated as anything other than a disappointment. Really an all time low for Marty as far as I'm concerned.

As the only repeat winner, I would have liked to see some shine put on others.Not as much as I want to win next year and have my avatar inserted into the party scene from The Apartment, or maybe have my face on all the Malkoviches in that restaurant scene, but after that I wouldn't be opposed to withdrawing my name from consideration.

As a casual commenter on AV Club I'd just like to chime in that I often enjoy what you write and it would be a shame if you "retired". That said, if its a question of fatigue I understand completely. But don't ragequit because of some meaningless and arbitrary contest.

I wanted to say something similar. I've basically been away from the comments for three months, firstly due to work then being too busy following arrival of the Lurkling. The AVC awards have reminded me just how much I enjoy hanging around here.
